Study for the Castelnau d’Estrétefonds Interchange and Station Area

Castelnau d’Estrétefonds, located 20 km north of Toulouse, will see its rail service greatly improved with a new metropolitan RER service located 12 minutes from the center of Toulouse. The project consists of programming an integrated transport hub, while promoting the most sustainable connection to the train, being walking, cycling or on bus, in order to limit the pressure of cars and car parks. It also allow the urban renewal of the station district around  the village, and minimise logistics present in the sector. The project will have to optimise land resources, allow density in a pleasant urban setting and integrate services for new residents as well as leisure activities linked to the proximity of the canal. More than 1,000 homes are planned including a high school and large green spaces connecting with the canal and natural spaces.
