Metropolitan park of the Glories square

In the middle of the three major mobility axes of Barcelona, the square is the paradigm of a new centrality, where major infrastructures go softer as underground. The public space is nearly exclusively dedicated to the pedestrian, while sorting out cycle paths, dedicated tramway and bus lanes around an interchange hub. The park project is based on a ‘smart city’ town planning, from a network and an intelligent module (Smart Grid) together with Cerdà Network. The system is based on a selected management (partly accessible to general public) depending on needs, events, with optimizing maintenance requirements.
