Tactical urbanism experiment and revitalization of Rue de la Poste

Rue de la Poste is a strategic link between the historic city centre and the railway station, and will play an even more significant role with the future pedestrian footbridge connecting the southern neighbourhood. The objective of the study was to revitalise and enhance the street by improving both its commercial attractiveness and the quality of its public spaces. The project was developed through a collaborative process involving municipal staff and local retailers in a series of co-design workshops. Following the preparation of a Masterplan, several redevelopment scenarios were explored. The preferred option was tested through a tactical urbanism pilot project, whose evaluation provided valuable insights for defining the program and design principles for the street’s future comprehensive redevelopment.
